Meet Noah and his Family

Last night, I finished editing another fabulous session. I spent hours staring at this handsome little face.  A face of a four year old little boy who has the whole world at his feet and has captured my heart.  I first met Noah three years ago.  His mom, Leah, asked me to photograph her family and capture Noah who was about to turn one.  I pulled out of of the images from our last session.

A few months ago, I came across a post on Facebook that one of my friends had commented on.  It was this post , I had learned that Noah had just been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  Until that day, I had not heard of Duchenne and knew very little about Muscular Dystrophy.  I watched this video and now understand more.
I got in contact with Leah to pass along my thoughts and asked if it would be okay for me to give her family a session. She said yes :) I was so excited to see Noah, Leah and Erik and meet their newest addition Caleb. Caleb is about the same age Noah was when I first met him.

Here are a few images from our session. While walking to our location, Leah shared with me some of what their life has been like since learning that Noah has DMD.  The grace in which she shared her story and her outlook was breathtaking.  I am truly honoured to have spent my time with this wonderful family and I think we can agree that we had some fun together. I told them they are stuck with me and I hope to continue capturing these boys as they grow.

Noah is four...he loves trucks, Lego and his bike.

His mom, dad and brother love him very much.

And he loves them very much.

One of the greatest gifts a photographer can give is to freeze a moment in time.

My wish... That I will photograph this wonderful family celebrating the day that they announce a treatment for Duchenne has been discovered.

This family is so appreciative of Noah's team down at the Childrens Hospital.  If you would like to donate, here is a link

  1. Bobbi, I can't thank you enough for these beautiful photos.
This family means more to me than you can imagine. I haven't been able to see my gorgeous nephews for the past 9 months, so having an opportunity to see their smiling faces through your amazing work is very special.
I'm looking forward to coming back to Prince George so that I can meet you and thank you in person!
    With thanks,
    Andrea Jancicka
